Michelangelo Vercesi is Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI) of the NOVA University of Lisbon and Co-Editor of the EJPR Political Data Yearbook. He is elected Member of the Executive Board of the IPSA/ISA Research Committee on Political Sociology. He holds the German Habilitation as Professor in Political Science (Priv.-Doz.) and the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in Political Science. After attaining a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pavia, he was Adjunct Professor in 'Italian Political System' at the University of Milan; collaborator for EuVisions - an observatory and data collection project on the social dimension of European integration -; Research Associate and Lecturer in Comparative Politics at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg; and Adjunct Professor in 'Government and Politics in Germany and Europe' for the US-based University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC, University of Nevada) in Germany. Michelangelo also held visiting positions in Austria, Germany, and the UK. His research focuses on comparative government, political elites and leadership, and political parties.
