Abstract

New media platforms and technologies are affecting how interest groups choose to operate and what strategies they utilize, not least in public affairs as a whole. The papers in this panel shed light on current interest group strategies in various venues and how the available choices and adopted strategies interact with the policy-making processes. The papers use a variety of research methods, including semi-structured elite interviews, discourse network analysis, qualitative comparative analysis (QCA), and a GPT-4-based lobbying AI chatbot.
