Abstract

Contributions to this panel investigate different ‘realist’ ways of analyzing the shifting dynamics of international politics, individual states’ foreign policies, as well as ways in which realist thought itself becomes a contentious element in the formulation of a state’s foreign policy. They engage with a core theme of this section – the distinction between the three levels of analysis – both theoretically and in the form of case studies.
