Course Descriptions

Our Methods School delivers a broad variety of courses that cater for the needs of researchers in political science and neighbouring disciplines.  The Summer School offers complementary course types and categories, which add up to a full and comprehensive tuition package.

The Summer School starts with Short courses and Seasoned Scholar Workshops on Thursday 26 July for three days, followed by Main courses (lasting five or ten days, from Monday 30 July - Friday 3 August and Monday 6 August - Friday 10 August) or Master courses (five days, from Monday 6 August - Friday 10 August).

Course Packages

You can take any course on its own or combine it with other courses to create a package.  Due to scheduling conflicts, there are some course types which don't allow for courses to be combined.  In the Course List, the course type will show you when the course is scheduled for.  Check the course types below for a guide to see if the course types you're interested in can be made into a package.

If you are considering taking two courses in the same week, please be aware that they entail a heavy workload. Most Main courses require additional work on top of the three classroom hours each day. Before you book, please read the course outlines thoroughly and make sure you are confident you can cope with the schedule.
