Conference format

The Academic Programme will be organised in the format of Sections and Panels, with each Section containing a variety of Panels in a given field. The programme will provide space for researchers from various backgrounds.


Application process

Call for full Panels and individual Papers: Deadline 20 March 2017

There will not be a separate call for Papers. All Panel proposals must include up to 4 Papers. Papers submitted as part of a Panel do not need to be resubmitted individually.  If accepted, Papers will be allocated to an appropriate Panel.

 

Call for Panels (with Papers) and individual Papers

Deadline 20 March 2017

This stage of the process is open to anyone wishing to propose a complete Panel with Papers, and those wanting to propose individual Papers. Panels should include up to 4 Papers.

We invite Panels and Papers addressing different facets of organised crime which may include but are not limited to:

  1. Gangs, organised crime and mafia
  2. Criminal logistics, organisation, and modus operandi
  3. Criminal mobility
  4. Politics, corruption, and symbolic power
  5. Organised crime in prisons
  6. Organised crime and the European financial crisis
  7. Freezing, forfeiture, and social reuse of criminal assets
  8. Women and children in criminal and terrorist networks
  9. Public perceptions of organised crime
  10. International and European cooperation in the fight against organised crime
  11. Organised crime, social media and the internet
  12. Big data, crowdsourcing and computational methods
  13. Environmental crime
  14. Modern slavery
  15. Money laundering

Abstracts should be written in English, contain a clear outline of the argument, and, where applicable, methodology and results. Please limit the maximum length of individual abstracts to 400 words. Panel proposals should consist of up to four individual abstracts, name(s) of Panel Chair(s) and Discussant(s), and a rationale of about 400 words. Please also send a short bio and full contact details.

The deadline to submit complete Panels (with Papers) and individual Paper proposals is 20 March 2017. All proposals should be sent to ecprsgocBath2017@gmail.com.

All proposers will be notified of the outcome of their submission on 1 April 2017.

 

Registration

 

Online registration opens on 1 April 2017. Registration and payment takes place through MyECPR. If you do not already have a MyECPR account, you can create one here. You can check the status of your institutional membership with ECPR here. Registration and payment must be received by 30 April to be eligible for the early bird rate. The deadline for all other registrations and payments is 1 June.

Conference fees include participation, coffee breaks, and lunches. The conference fee is due immediately upon registration.

*Students must send a copy of their student card, or a letter from the Head of Department where they are enrolled, to the ECPR Events Team by 1 June 2017 in order to be eligible for the student rate reduced conference fee.

Participants attending and appearing in any capacity in the conference must register and pay before midnight UK time 1 June 2017.  Anyone who has not registered and paid by this date will not be included in the conference and automatically withdrawn from the conference and replaced.
 

 

Cancellation/Refund Policy

In line with the Office of Fair Trading and EU Distance Selling regulations, there is a 7 day cooling off period following registration payment, during which time you have the right to cancel and receive a full refund of the conference fee. This policy only relates to registration, other items purchased may not be subject to a refund. Cancellations after the 7 day cooling off period will not be eligible for a refund.
